Mary Tom Graves Maphet, RN, graduated from Bethesda School of Nursing in 1969. Immediately following graduation she joined her husband to live in Germany for one year. In 1970, she began her nursing career in Labor & Delivery at Bethesda Oak Hospital and followed that with the GYN floor. After transferring to Bethesda North in 1974, her career became very varied with ICU/CCU, Ortho/Neuro floor, Radiology nurse, Ask-A-Nurse, Endoscopy Recovery Room and OR. She also had optional positions through the years at Hospice, Bethesda Warren County, Quality Control, and Radiology Transcription. She retired in February 2008, after 39 years at Bethesda/TriHealth.

In continued service, she continues to teach and also sews the “Anti-Ouch Pouches” for Breast Cancer Surgery patients at TriHealth. She has been a member of the Alumni Association since graduation and became Membership Secretary of the Alumni in 2009.
